Can anybody tell me please what is the correct working temperature of the fridge?
Last weekend I was testing it, first I bought a 9V battery to let the temp LCD works... then with the van started I switched on the fridge (the 12V switch)... After more than 2 hours driving the temp was always the same... around 12ºC... is that correct?
I also tested the fridge with gas when the van was stopped and the same...

Has your fridge got big outside vents-2 large grilles on the outside of the van where the fridge is?--this is to draw cold air in from the outside when you are moving--if it has not-& most German vans-ie Westys dont your fridge wont get that cold when driving because it is drawing the warm air from inside the van-not cold outside air--when parked & running on gas or electric hookup the fridge should get fairly cold--but if the outside temp is very hot ie in Spain 30 degrees or more the fridge wont work that well--
IIRC a fridge working on 12v only stops it getting warmer, it can't work hard enough on that to lower the temp, you'll need to plug it into the mains overnight or for a few hours before you go anywhere to get it to a decent beer cooling temp.
Gas'll get it cool enough too.
On gas it freezes beer in cans over night ..as cate ses cooling it down first when on Batt will maintain a lower temp
try the old frozen 2ltr pop bottle trick!
You know what? I was watching the LCD display and always around 12... and I have realized it is 12Volts!! When I switch on the engine goes to allmost 13Volts!!! so it is must be volts!!! What is that thing doing over the fridge??? and that display works with a 9V battery!

mine will freeze on 12v, there is no regualtion on 12v on nay of the three way ones, and it is a capable of turning milk to a solid block of unuseable ice on gas if its turned up too far........
will definately chill from ambient on 12v and gas, and mains, although it makes sense to help it..... i always prechill it on mains before a major trip in the hot, but that mainlybecause i dont run it on 12v unless i have to....
