Call Vee W Services in Bristol and get a quote from them - they hold a lot more T25 stuff than JK, GSF or ECP and will ship around the country - 0117 941 8641.

I don't work for them, but do find their service refreshing!

Time for an update, the garage had the van back in today to fit two new drums. They phoned a while back to say it had solved the problem........yay..........however that still leaves me wondering how you can remove two perfectly working drums and when you put it back together it all turns to cr@p.

The guy at the garage remarked on how easily the drums came off initially so there was no levering involved. There was no stepping etc inside the drums. The shoes weren't disturbed during the work.

What could of happened?????

Perhaps he left his spanner in there?

More likely there was something stopping at least one drum from fitting flush back in place. On tightening the wheel bolts bendage could occur. I would imagine something to do with the new studs given the work that created the problem. Just my opinion mind. You might want to take a look at the braking surfaces in your own time in the near future to assue yourself your braking isn't compromised.

5) Presumably if the drums came of easily (rare unles they've been refurbed in the last few years), they cleaned and adjusted them up. Did they road-test them? Get them hot? Really hot? Then park up with the handbrake on. Were they indeed adjusted up a bit too much and got really hot just by driving? And then park up with the handbrake straight away. Sometimes, if they cool right down wrapped around the shoes, distort them.

Well just to tidy this one up the drums did cure the problem but I still don't know how they were fine before removal and not after they were refitted. The rear brakes didn't look like they had been on the van very long at all. Maybe just maybe they dropped one.........who knows!

I guess it was only one drum that was out of shape and causing the problem but I thought drums, like any other part of the braking system, should be replaced in pairs???

Hey ho, first post on here and it's a thanks. Got my bus back from MOT and she had identical symptoms. Took drum off, cleaned up a bit. Put back on and problem is gone. (Wasn't there before handbrake adjust for MOT).
Must have been sitting slightly askew.
