an extra seat?? - too many kids!

Post by vwsween »

Been thinking of fitting an extra seat on a box and swivel behind the passenger seat. I have an Autosleeper but dont think they ever supplied extra seats? Have seen some by Autohomes, I think. Does anyone know how they fit - ie are they permanent or can they be easily removed. Anyone know where to get one apart from ebay?
Any thoughts appreciated.

The Autohomes one sits on runners with a decent lock and is supposed to be removable but, despite lots of shouting at ours and trapped fingers, it still is in place and not removable. Not going to force it either.

I have a Devon conversion with swivel front seats and also need an extra seat for the odd occasion. Are they safe just bolted to floor or do they have to attached to bulkhead (which I don't have)?

Where would seat belt fixings go? I have seen a buddy seat where the seat belts simply went on the same fixings as those for the front passenger but I thought that might be too much stain in the worst case scenario of a bump.

Seats in cars are just bolted to the floor. Seats in the T4 are just bolted to the floor. Middle seats in the 'velle are just bolted to the floor. Bus and minibus seats are bolted to the floor. Decent sized spreader plates underneath and it should be good to go!!
