Something is leaking when i dip the clutch?
Right, picture the scenario... Two women buy a T25. Get it home and every time i dip the clutch a hear a squelching noise coming from down where the pedals are and fluid leaking out where me feet are, not lots, yet!
Me dad says he will help me fix it but i don't know where to start, all i can say is it's clutch fluid and it's coming from where the two bolts are on a square plate, facing you just above a tube that heads out into the front of the van. Directly behind the steering thingy?
God you're all gonna start shaking your heads now.

mine did this last year. It needed a new clutch master cylinder thing. The fluid is the same as your brake fluid too from what i remember, (all come from the same resevior i think) so be careful. Has your brake warning light not come on? The reservior is under the instrument pod, so you can check the level there to make sure it isn't low!
Where abouts are you? i got Simon brickyard (Huddersfield) to fix mine for me. Top job as always!
Hope this helps,
Kathy

Yeah - clutch and brake fluid are the same thing - reservoir in dash pod behind steering wheel - place one hand either corner of pod at rear and pull towards you and upwards - entire top comes off leaving your clocks etc and the reservoir behind.......

"HEY, LOOK AT MY CAR"
I bid you farewell.......for now.......

it sounds like your clutch master cylinder GSF have them part no 71680 CLUTCH MASTER CYL-FAG T25 5/79 > 11/90 29.40+vat. they're down emma place just off milbay rd on the corner next to Phil Davies' garage who happens to specialses in VW's. don't forget to ask them for club discount usualy 10% but every little helps

Although it may not help you now, and you should keep it topped up, I think there is a separate section of the fluid reservoir lower down to make sure that a leaky clutch doesn't entail total loss of brakes - that scenario wouldn't pass muster with safety considerations at the design stage...

Depends how much fluid is leaking all over the place and how quickly you want it to eat through your rubber mats etc! I topped mine up and it lasted a little while, long enough to get a date with the garage and get it sorted, but that was the slave cylinder and not the master.
Good luck.
Good luck.

The master for brakes and clutch is under the dashboard.
The slaves are at the wheels for the brakes and at the gearbox for the clutch.
Key difference is you can't see them leaking

lol
Ahhhhhhh right, well this thing that leaks is at my feet?! lol
Not the thing at the same level as the steering wheel where at put the fluid in, it's actuall behind the pedals and if i stick my head to where the pedals are and press the clutch, i can actually see it weep?
God i'm dim!

Thats right, the master turns your pedal pressure into fluid pressure and the servos or slaves turn it back into mechanical motion... with an easy to run bit of bendable bundy pipe in between, sweet, eh?
I've heard that changing the clutch master is a bit of a pain, but small hands should help
as well as a torch
and maybe a curved 'C' spanner

There are 2 lower sections, one for front and one for rear brakes so a clutch leak will never cause any brake failure.
