ATDC is which way again?

Timing my 2000 once more.. cant for the life of me remember which way i time it... as i look at the scale is it to the Left or Right of zero (TDC)

AFAIK left, anti clock is BTDC ie advanced, spark is occurring before the cylinder reaches topmost point so right, clockwise is after.

bob.. have played with it today, both ways... no difference in performance..... lost now! i noticed it was advancing rapidly with not many revs on... i.e. 20 deg with bout 1250 revs on... i dont think this is right do you? could my fault be a knacked dizzy??
