Need a stripe around my van

Post by irishkeet »

Hi all
Happy Easter...

I'm looking to get a stripe to go around my van (photo below), think I would like black, maybe graduating from light to dark, needs to be just less than 2"| thick.
Thing is I can find anywhere on the web and I was hoping someone could help.

Thanks

It wouldn't be a problem for any sign makers who use digital or silk screen vinyls to organise a special sheet for you. If you create an artwork in Photoshop of the longest strip you need, which is probably about 1.5 metres, then ask the sign maker to step it up it enough times to cover the areas you will use.. The fade makes it more tricky for you as it gives away print imperfections and horizon lines when you apply it. Personally I would mask the van and spray a solid colour. At least you can adjust the masking until its right and also flatten the paint in with polishing.
The vinyl inks will need to have UV resistance. Unlikely that more than 3 to 5 years can be guaranteed. If you buy cheap stuff it will fade although black is not so prone to fade. Reds and yellows are worse.
Im not the first and I wont be the last

i do vinyl cut, you could do it as either a widening linear stripe ie to make it look fading or with the build up of dots, and can do stickers cheaper than £50, I did not say this but have various VW logos redrawn that you just cant buy anymore!!!!!! , will be doing our van soon, so anyone interested let me know, this is high grade external vinyl (8 years +)

if i can be of help PM us
