Hi Wilfers,

JMS in cheltenham (not to far from you) recently told me that to replace my 1.6 NA would be approx 2 - 2.5K (including labour) , And they'd only do it if they sourced/supplied the engine, but didn't say from where. However, someone on one of the boards recommended www.elitevws.co.uk (if you can get your van there) who seem to quote much lower prices on their webpage - recon engines with fitting from about £800.
Fortunately I have found a friend who is happy to replace/upgrade mine with a engine from a breakers.

HTH.

If you're prepared to spend that much then go to a proper T25 specialist such as Brickwerks or Syncronutz and have a 1.9TD put in - you'll get more power and knowledge that the job has been done by someone who actually knows their a*** from their elbow around these slightly left of centre vans.

There's also Audi-Volks in Keynsham (sp) near Bristol and MAD in Kingswood, who would be closer for you.

Still Syncro, just much fasterer
