Is my Piston Scrap

Strip one side of my 2.1 DJ engine to find out why it was low on compression on one cylinder.
After a mighty struggle with a wrist pin I have found out why.
2nd ring in pieces scoring and damage to side of piston.
Liner honed out ok
I think piston maybe scrap, with rings removed and put into liner it wiggles about a good 1mm gap.
Would post pic if I new how too.
VW quote £55 for a piston but don,t have any on back order will they ever come.
G&S sell 2.1 piston and liner sets £175 Cofap are they any good what compression ratio will I end up with
