Door locks, I can't trust them!

Post by Macflai »

Hey Hi!!

A new story to tell:

I have been in Dublin 2 hours ago, we (my gf and I) went to O'Connell St and we were just watching places and shops... We parked in a street called Gardiner St Lower in a paying place but in the street. There were more or less 6 painters painting a iron wall next to the van... When we arrived to the van again I saw it closed but somebody was into my van...and there were no painters in the street. They (or he, dunno who) have stolen my new socket set (a cheap one, 41€) and my tools (some chinese spanners, and cheap screwdrivers and other crappy things, but usefull)... So bah I really don't give a sh*t because I can buy a new tools but really suxs. (Of course I could leave my tools at home but it not happened). Worst thing was to see my gf so f*cking sad... and 5 minutes before that we were "feck" laughing

As my father says "una para saber y otra para aprender", it'd be like that "one to know, one to learn" More or less that you have to know how things are and then you learn about them..."

So now I have to buy a new socket set and some spanners and maybe a tool box. F*ckin bad luck

You think door locks are so bad? What is the solution because I use any key and the fckn door opens!

I am looking offers in a big magazine (like a book) called "Argos" and there are many interesting things about tools and the prices are to laugh, CHEAP!!!... Anyone knows about it?

Regards!

Sorry you've had that happen mate, thats pooh. Door locks are naff, there are various things you can do but if they want what you've left in there they will get in whatever you do.

Time methinks to go to Halfords and get their mega big socket and spanner set, the professional set, ooh lots of lovely shiny stuff!

Bummer

Si, Brickwerks does resetting/refurbishing of locks, I think he even does a kit of parts too.. if he doesnt you will need to get a set of barrels for him to re-key etc..

You have to make sure any stuff is hidden so the opportunist doesnt bother..
if you leave tools in the bus, I would get cheapo ones.. Argos is ok.. but expect to break stuff if you abuse it.. dont try to undo wheel bolts with an argos bought socket set.. get a few good spanners/tools to top up wher the common sizes and heavy use would be..

we had a nasty experience in Spain 18 months ago.. we were even with the bus and the kids were in it.. :x :x :x still snuck in and nicked my wifes handbag.. passports money cards.. :x :x

gardiner street was a bad place to park. Its an absolute dump and should be bulldozed with all the scumbags and skangers still inside.

There are Halfords shops just in UK as I can see not here in Ireland. Don't know if it is a good idea to drive to Belfast to buy that...

Ok!

About tools, now I have new ones  , they are not the best ones but I don't use them every day and every hour so no problem...

I bought from Argos a big spanner set and from Helfords and big metallic box with sockets and many other things... Nice to start again...
Happy again, but now the tools will be the most of the time at home and not in the car

Cheers amigos!
