The committee agreed to hold an 'online' AGM in July so that all members could vote - we now have getting on for 70 members, and on average only about 20 attend each event.
The arrangements for the AGM will be announced in June. A postal ballot sounds a good idea.

Why has it taken 2 years for the AGM to take place?
Surely electing yourselves into the committee just to be affiliated with MSA is against the regs?

Well as I was considering joining, and after reading the post Michael Ghia put up, I'm reconsidering.
All the "behind closed doors" things are not nice. Surely if something has happened which could influence everyone else on here, we should be able to read it and decide for ourselves? It looks very much asthough you have banned this chap because you don't want anyone to know whats going on.
If you can't be straight with potential members and just answer a simple question, why should we want to join?
John

Because we are governed by our constitution which states that the AGM has to take place in July.
does it say anything in that constitution about removing and replace committee member without any voting of consultation of the clubs paying members?

That 'chap' posted potentially libellous stuff. You can't leave it up for everyone to read.......not unless you want a lawsuit, which I doubt any of the admin or mods do......
He was also more than a little bit rude about me - which I found personally offensive......and it was untrue - anyone who had the misfortune to be up and online last Thursday at ungodly o clock could read that themselves.
Obviously I'm therefore bias......so this is mostly only my opinion.....
Dare say everyone will hear every little word of it at some point if they attend a camp/meet forum members in person/ring up and ask someone, but it can't be repeated on an open forum.......
I've got his phone number here if anyone wants to ring him and ask him.....

I think it is time that some people start to think hard about all this.
These comitee members spend a lot of their time and effort in organising
events and other behind the seen activitis. They dont get paid or any
other compensation for this (apart from abuse now and then)
The incedent that has cicked this all of is not the first time this indevidule has been baned from this club or another ,for personel slander when having a disagreement with another club member.
To many chifes never achive anything.

It's the constitution - I'm not trawling through it for you at this hour Martin - you're literate, I know that....Martin wrote:Because we are governed by our constitution which states that the AGM has to take place in July.
