Where have all those posts gone?

Post by KevH »

as it says, we've heard lots in the past about freedom of speech, and this being a public forum,i take it that this does not mean on here, if i remember rightly it wasn't MG who had the first dig in the convince me thread, it was DH who made the first comment, why hasn't he been asked to leave too.

Interesting reading tonight.....or it would be if there was anything left to read. All the posts explaining whats gone on and peoples responses have been deleted. I dont claim to know the situation, but I have read several of Diamond Hells post on other forums and seen him unnecessarily lay into people simply because they dont agree with him or think that the T25 syncro is the best thing in the world.

I dont post on hear very often, but I do read most days, especially as I am desperately hunting a T25 (ideally a syncro) but it appears this forum (and maybe this club) is just one big clique where outsiders arent welcome. All the major stuff is kept "behind the scenes". I find it interesting that no-one is prepared to reveal exactly what Mike Ghia has done....if you want people to make the correct decisions then give them all the facts. I was interested in buying some parts from Mike...is he not to be trusted then?

Oh and while Im here.....are there any good T25 websites?

If you were gonna buy some bits from MG then don't let the rubbish on here stop you, it's just a fact of life that not everyone will always get on.

He's always been great when i've met him and bought bits from him

All decent people are welcome, this is an internet based club with a
strong 'family camping' trend, there is a whole bundle of friendly people here with lots of info and skills to share, I have been helped out by loads of members, given parts and given time. Thats what its all about.

Not all decisions can be made by the whole membership, the buying of a new Spragmans went into umpteen pages of discussion, all members were able to input, only a few did. It took days and days, in the end just a few actually got on and did the job.
Me!

you've hit on something there Cate,

When it comes down to decision making, where was everyone, only 15 or so members contributed to the Spragmans decision of what to buy and spend club money but very little will be said of it in the form of complaints.

This club isn't cliquey, but yes it does have little pockets/groups who get on very well (all clubs/groups probably do).We also have a clique of complainers

I've sold stuff to him several times, turns up when he's meant to and doesn't mess you around for ages.
I've bought from him, we got lost, he helped out.
I have no problems with him either.

But what Mike posted was libelous and from what I'm gathering a lot (or all, don't know) of it was untrue so he couldn;t left posted up here, sadly Mike was warned by Mocki and refused ignore that warning :(

The Syncronauts club (NOT club80-90), and by that I mean those charged with managing its affairs (the committee), were faced with a difficult situation and have dealt with it in the way they believe is in the best interests of the club.

Someone was asked to stay away from meetings for the time being because it was felt that that was in the best interests of a forthcoming event. They were not banned, they did not have their membership revoked, nor were they excluded from participating in discussions. It was not given as permanent, but a temporary measure until such time as the club could organise its affairs differently.

The club did not enter into that lightly and asked for the understanding and
co-operation from the member concerned.

The subsequent banning from the forum resulted from the extraordinary
reaction and damage the member then sought to cause the club.

A decision reached by due process of all the committee members and by
consultation with the club's association is I would say entirely correct.

If members don't like what is done read the clubs rules and constitution and deal with it in accordance with those articles. That's why they are there.

ok, ive had enough now!

lets get one or two things straight,
1.Club80-90 and Club80-90 syncronauts are NOT the same thing. They are sister clubs, one born from the other, Club80-90 has no committee, and is a internet based group of members with an interest in the T25 as a whole, every model. Club80-90 Syncronauts is a "real" club, with a committee, a constitutuion and rules and everything, born out of CLub80-90 for those with the need to use , abuse and learn about the T25 Syncro ( and quite possibly other model syncros) .

2. These are the Club80-90 forums, NOT the Club80-90 Syncronauts Forums. The Syncro section is not the forum of the Syncronauts ( it's just where they hang out, so to speak) Some people are have trouble grasping the fact that being a member of the CLub80-90 forum is NOT the same as being a member of Club80-90 nor being a member of Club80-90 syncronauts - three entirely different things.

3. I banned MG, he had been asked not to take up the Club80-90 Syncronauts despute on the Club80-90 forums, which he agreed to on the phone. He then did exactly the oposite, and posted all sorts of untruths about lots of Club80-90 members, I banned him from the Club80-90 forums. I did NOT remove his membership from either Club80-90 nor Club80-90 Syncronauts

4. I told Diamond Hell the same - he did not carry on to attack members of Club80-90 , there fore he was NOT banned. Should that change then he will also get the same .

Imo , as jen said, typed message are easily taken the wrong way, and everyone at some point takes them differently to the way they were meant, however there are a few out there who do tend to sitr things up intentionally, posting to get a reaction, or just plainly under misunderstanding how things are.

If Mg had stuck to his word, and not posted what he did, he wouldnt have been banned from these forums, it was his choice.
