I'm just about to take the money from the sale of my car and I thought I'd better just check a couple of points before I do so and start looking for a Westfalia.
1. Has anyone fitted a 3 point belt in the left hand rear seat, and how?
2. We would need to fit a multivan rear seat behind the (right hand) passenger seat. I'm sure that when I looked in the past the van I saw had fittings in place to allow a 3 point belt to be fitted here. Am i right?
Thanks
Richard

You can fit a 3 point in the seat next to the units in two ways.
1. Mount a long belt in the normal way and make the requisite holes in the wardrobe so that it works. This is how mine is done and it's fine.
2. Get an anyway up retractable unit from JK or any other provider of seatbelts and bolt it to the floor above the engine (not the hatch). Check the Securon (they make most seatbelts even ones branded by car manufacturers) website for some excellent drawings and example installs for this fitting. You may have to think hard about how your bed and stuff is going to work.
I'm not sure where you think the three point is going to fit to the van on the slider side for your extra seat!!? You can get minibus style seats with the three point harness built in though. They are not very common but they do exist.

multivan rear facing fifth seats have lapbelts as standard,it is probably possible to use the front passenger seat bolt holes to fit a three point belt
Middle row seats both double and singles had lapbelts also, fitting a three point belt to these is possible using the two existing connection points
