Stainless steel exhaust

Post by jojorose »

Anyone know where I can get one made. I know a bloke in Paignton but as I live in Sheffield I'd rather use someone local.

Try speaking to ascar exhausts fella - they've done a couple for us and the bloke really knows his onions. He's done type 25s before as well - there was a white American market Westfalia in issue one of the volksworld camper magazine that had one on. It used to be cheaper than buying a mild steel stock one too, but I don't know if it still is.

I will be asking at my local exhaust center this week, they made stainless exhausts for a couple of my friend's cars (not T25s). I will get a price. it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than in the UK. (I am in Poland) I am trying to get one made for my bus T3 (T25) 1.6D

Jesus 500 pounds is over 1 months wages here.
I will keep you informed about prices.

autohaus(if you mean me?).....well...I spoke to Mr.Baxter, over 'ill, and he said that diesels+stainless = bad for cracking,so I gave it a miss.(good job I did)--and took it to Brickwerks,as he "adapted" my hybrid-bodge-freak exhaust,to run on JX parts :D ,also removed the oxi-kat,and fitted the strengthening bracket that in its absense was causing much of the vibration!!
It definitely pays to take your van to those in the know as whilst there he noticed part of the cooling system was missing, which was also rectified at a good price!
So,exhaust woes cured, and good advice on future upgrades, one of which was the addition of a charge-cooler instead of the (doing nowt) intercooler on mine, its all plumbed in except one pipe(tomorrows job),but I'll be getting those stainless pipe peeps at Darnall to make me up some steel(stainless??)turbo air pipework as whats on now is very temporary!

Moonshine is that £270 fitted? even if its not thats still a cracking price. Everytime I look into this the price is always £500+ and thats when I lose interest. Appreciate the pics when you've had it done, and well done for finding a good product at a fantastic price.

well,it was priced fitted, and made as a one off.
but bear in mind its a diesel so the pipework is very short and simple, poss more expensive on petrols?
I didn't go down that route in the end, stuck with normal steel, but properly sorted.
