Exhausts

I had a similar reply from jp exhausts

They said
"Sorry that engine makes exhausts crack. We steer well clear. JP."

Sorry excuse etc but i thought that if i use the aaz with it's original turbo and manifold that i would have to have an exhaust made as none of the off the peg systems would fit.

you are quite right.
the original aaz turbo has four bolt flange, way different from jx.
turbo also further back and higher than jx.
think you will stuggle to have one made without the van,if someone takes the job on at all it will be a bend -it-a-bit and try for size process.
apart from myself,i do not know of anyone else on here that has used aaz manifold, aaz turbo reportedly fits on jx manifold.
still cant use jx frontpipe though.

Well, easy to get completely confused by all these variations, options and combinations... anyone willing to make a start on a synopsis for our Wiki?

Here, I've made a start on how to part strip and re-index a turbo - now that happens to eb on my AAZ with a JX manifold and the Garret Ref. is T2, which is yet another curiosity - as everywhere i go I find people taling about T3 turbos but never a T2. Then theres KKK's and well, you see what i mean....

Wiki article, pictures of finished article with wastegate bleed valve coming later

Confused, Herts

Andyel,

Think it was you who mentioned shortening the dipstick on AAZ in stages - if so, can you recall how much you ended up with shortening. Just found 1" is easy, and should just get you into the oil (4.5 litres)... agree?

Think one or other of the Andy's had a set of photos of conversion too... are they still on forum - Thanks!
