leak into cab

Hi, I have a leak onto my cab floor and when the old rain comes down my driver side floor is wet. Have put my hand up behind console panel from foot pedals and it's wet on metal body work. Bit bewildered as I had new seal fitted not long ago, however, does seem abit out(seal). Could this be the problem???
Any ideas would be appreciated and a process of illimination will start.

Have a look at the seal round your aerial. Most probably your seal around the windscreen though fella.

the washer jets can let water in too.

i get the same on passenger side a fair bit too so could be washer jets never thought of that

also the fresh air intake

have you checked the slam panel, at the door hinge there is an oblong recess



if it's full of water that could be the problem

I had exactly the same problem. Unfortunately although the front panel looked free of rust, there were holes under the rubber seal. It doesn't take a big hole for rain water to get through by capillary action. I had no choice but to get the windscreen removed, treat the rust, fill the holes, and replace with a brand new seal. Seems ok now.

Yup, nine times out of ten its rust holes under the rubber at base of windscreen. Its a weakness I'm afraid. Just short of £100 to replace panel below windscreen (if you can find one) and a fairly major job to replace but you can repair the lower edges by making up sections and welding in.

To be perfectly honest, mines the same and I'll be sorting that come the summer.

I have had mine replaced twice and the panel repaired once. Still pishes water so will replace the whole front panel.

Thats great info, seems its been a worth while post and hopefully its as straight forward to sort out. Had a look today and seems the water is making its way under the new seal and downwards into cab. I think when the weather picks up I will remove window (repair any damage), aerial and screen washers and reseal the lot. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Its not too bad a job - the new seal from JK is around £24 - the rest is your time! Good luck
