The 2 I am stuck with are from the what I call warm air pipe from the the top of the heat exchanger to the carb.
The top metal pipe in this :

So my thoughts are Cut the pipe and block it up Carb end and exchanger end, Can I do this on just one side or will I need to block both sides up?
What are the implications of doing so if I block one side and not the other or block both etc?
I assume these bolts are threaded into the exchanger so could it be possible to drill them out and tap new threads into the exchanger?
Or would it be possible to remove the rubber parts on the main inlet, would this give me enough movement to move the exchanger up to put a new gasket on?
I don't really want to take apart the drivers side, as its not broken so my theory is if its not broken don't fix it.
Any ideas would be great as I really want to get her back on the road asap, now I've started
Thanks
Andrew
