Wet ceilling - no leaks though... and no rain?

Do VW T25s suffer from wet ceillings due to condensation? I have now regreased seals, waterproofed the fabric and silliconed the skylight, but there is still damp on the ceilling, perhaps more so than before, but we have had no rain... any body else have such bad condensation?

A lend of a dehumidifier and a heater me thinks!

I have a pop top Westy. The furry lining feels damp in cold weather - having had GRP boats, any thing in GRP will attract condensation. Mostly it does not do any harm, unless trapped against plywood or bare metal! Best thing is to give the van a good airing on a dry day.

If you have a gas fridge in your van then its probably that thats doing this.

Not a lot you can do.

Its easy to remove the fluff crap of a pop top, then easy to keep clean.

good ventilation and a heater. (fan type)

dehumidifiers will try and soak up all the humidity in the planet unless you can get an air tight van.

Well, I wouldn't have thought that was a good idea anyway. Ventilation is the key, not stopping air flows.

I've got our van stripped out awaiting an interior refit, and even with the fridge vents and open bund holes in the floor (plenty of ventilation there) the inside of the hightop is covered with condensation Just one of those things i suppose. I would expect that insulating the van thoroughly would help tho?

Yes, I need to think about some insulation - simply covering up the ceilling might be a good idea to keep some heat in, at the moment it is just the bottom of the roof as it were... brown stuff... chip board?
