Sliding Door Adjustment

Post by windysurfer »

My sliding door seems to have dropped at the back. The Swage lines do not line up any more.

I've removed the track cover and everything looks OK from what I can see.
If I grab the bottom of the door at the back I can lift the door up and down.
The three bolts which allow adjustment of the back hinge are still tight.

Is this likely to be down to just wear and tear and if so which bit do I need to change?

It a late type door

cheers

Wear and tear I would say.
Undo the three bolts while door is supported, preferably with a jack to allow adjustment. When undone, jack up door slightly so you can see the door has moved in relation to the hinge, re-tighten and hopefully it should be back in line. May take a couple of attempts to line it up perfectly but it will look much better when done.
Mark.

Finally got round to adjusting my sliding door.

I slackened the outer two bolt and jack up the door but have run out of adjustment before the door is back square :?

What else could cause my door to go out of square?

I'm guessing the rear hinge is worn out?
