audi v6 into t25

Post by BLUG »

ive been offered a 2.6 v6 out of an audi a4,my mate recons it will go in easy, im not sure, besides the plumbing in of the ecu etc,i reckon that this cheap engine will turn out to be pretty expensive with regards to fabrication work to make it fit, anyone done one in a wedge?

all 2.6's are 12 valve, all the 12valves are gutless horrible engines, only ones worth the effort are the 30 valve ones.

im going to fit a 12v one.. but the 2.8 175bhp one..
WHY T3's.... because they are just so adictive, and having one just aint enough

Its alot of work for a dull under powered engine, the 30 valve may only have 20bhp more but they are really nice

ive already got the SA bell housing so that part is easy..
they dont do a non imobaliser setup in the 30 valve though do they?

the way im looking at it is.. ive driven and liked how the 2.1 waterboxer engines drive, im not looking for mega power.. i was going to fit a wbx 6 that i had so the 12 2.8 v6 valve sould be fine.

also.. its going to end up with a custom made intake filter setup and wont be running a cat so that sould help thing breath better.

im looking to be able to keep up with modern cars a bit better on the motorway etc.. and have a bit more go.. than my 2.1 had...
that will do me.

All the 30 valves have immobilisers. The point i am trying to make is its a very un flexible engine with no bottom end go and no top end, mid range is good. The 30valve ones pull well at all revs due to the variable manifolds and variable cam timing.

so the point your trying to make is you like the 30 valve... so i should fit that..
even though the 12 valve is an improvement which i want.
even though i like the fact that the 12 valve is more simple.
even though the 12 valve has less electronics which i want..

and where do you get it from it has no bottom end ?

the 2.1 flat four 112 bhp 174Nm
the 2.8 v6 is 167bhp 240Nm
but of course thats not enough i should fit the 30 valve..
WHY T3's.... because they are just so adictive, and having one just aint enough

Forget the figures, its a fact all the 12 valves are gutless, even the 2.4 30 valve scrubs the floor with the 2.8 12valve. The 12 valves did not get replaced very quickly for no reason, bmw and merc 2.8's were in a different league.

Have run a a6 with the said no good engine and my opinion is that these are good engines and at 250,000 miles and still going strong can't be that bad. Only down side I see is that they drink fuel at all speeds but should make a nice cruiser in a van. good luck to ya. :D
