Upright Type 1 bug motor into a T3

Post by Vanagonman »

Sounds like it would be easy and fit like a glove. Plus a 1776 or higher capacity should move a T3 pretty well, and parts are cheap as chips. I have seen someone run an upright in a Vanagon in California by creating a taller dome above the engine compartment via sheetmetal. One can run a Type 3 setup, but the upright type one setup is easier to work on and cool i'd expect. If it's a camper, bed foam can be used to raise the bed to compansate. Has anyone thought of doing this? :idea
was....82 Westy, 80 Mk. 3 Transporter, 69 Bay
now....66 T1 LHD 1.6 Bus

* If you need it to arrive safe & in one piece..*

It will knock the bottom end out pretty quick... T25's tend to weigh a good bit more than bay window... but dont let us stop you... :D
