Peugeot engines in T25
There was a guy doing a Peugeot diesel conversion kit. Does anyone know if he's still around? I'm thinking that for the 'biggy' trip around Eastern Europe, I'll give the Dehler a 2 litre HDI, having had starship miles out of all the itroen diesels I've had so far.

hi
that will be phill from yorkshire
apparently he cant get the plates made anymore!
have to say you wont regret it!
only down side is low engine or lifting the lid at least an inch, but depending on which conversion you use dosent always matter , an i lift a sextion of lid , not the whole thing
i do have a spare plate , and will get around to taking it to an engineer one day!
phill was getting them done as and when the engineer had spare time , this kept them cheap , arond 230£ with moddied flywheel and engine mount plates , deliverd .
i think realistically it will be more like 400, still not bad cosidering the reliablity increase you get , and the fact you can get an endless supply of cheap(£50 up) pug engines!

Sounds like a good plan - I have a Pug HDI with Moon trip mileage on it and a mate who has been to Mars in his!
I guess you need to convert a diesel T25 rather than a petrol one?

andysimpson wrote:Why fit the HDI, the VW PD engines are the best diesels ever made in whatever engine size from the 3cyl 1.2 to the 10 clyinder 5.0l.
Isn't the PD system rather complicated, using very high pressure and if fitted wrongly could spray fuel around ... fire hazard etc?

hi
mr simpson does like an argument .
but lets not go there
lets just add and compare the time/efforf and money up for his van compared to mine , say over the last 40000 miles
that should keep him quiet!
if youd of gone psa and spent same money on a motor, 180bhp from a 1.9 turbo diesel and bullet proof! now thats a different story!
no more to say really

Re: Peugeot engines in T25
dont know which pics youve seen mr simpson, never had an instal fail yet!
i think a high top with 2 adults 2 teenagers , a half t25 trailor and fully loaded , 4 weeks and 4500 miles later ,through france ,switzerland ,itally ,spain ,belgiym ,netherlands
without fault except no fan fuse averaging 35mpg and crusing motorways at 60-65 mph is a testament to my instal /the peugeot set up.
done six conversions so far ,all on different vans and apart from the one i removed to sell standard so i get to keep the kit all are going perfect .
shame we cant say that about your engines!
fact is i dont want/need silly power, my basis is a good reliable van ,which i cant seem to have with a standard vw engine.
my choice is pug , my van gets worked hard , towing t25s on an a frame across the country at 60 mph.
im sure if i tunned mine to 180bhp if prob wouldnt last as long ,but should give yours a run for its money!
good job ive nowt to prove
as a standard engine for £50 i can have a super reliable vw , show me a £50 vw engine that will take me to the moon and back, towing itself in weight!
personally i dont care about your van , you like it weyhay! , i like mine! get used to it
