Lower ride but keeping the comfort ?!?

Post by redeye »

Hi
I'am looking to lower my mid 80's t25, A stripped out caravelle. Can anyone suggest a good spring/shock combo. I want about 60mm drop but with out the super firm ride, my bus is my everday ride and needs to drive over campsites / potholes, and do motorway miles in the most amount of comfort.
Also good places to buy/get it fitted

Please help!

Cheers

AVO kit is adjustable so you can have it as harsh, or as soft as you like it.

the 70mm springs are only £122 + a tenner to deliver thats £50 cheaper than Brickwerks :o They also stock Bilstein shockers, Powerflex bushes, and the ultimate T3 handling package the H&R Cup Kit for a reasonable £706 delivered .

suspension kits

Post by rab-rulez »

personal experience i wouldnt use any white box /g-max/jamex/avo suspension kits i have spent over 1500.00 quid in suspension and none of them come close to being a good kit the adjustment on the avo stuff is horrid if adjusted to stop bounce the ride is horrid if adjusted to make ride smooth the van bounces all over the road airride technologies is my next step P.S. I HAVE A FULL AVO KIT FOR SALE & A FULL G-MAX KIT FOR SALE
I WILL GET THERE IN THE END

Jus a general idea but does anyone else think a shock relocater link could work to help with comfort as most problems I encounter seem to be the shocks bottomin out rather than the springs?

If you had £1500 to spend on kits why didn't u go for a coil over kit custom made from Spax (etal) for around £1000? :?
It's the ultimate set up with shorter relocated integral springs and shocks and fully adjustable in spring and damper.

Or did u do what we all mostly do start cheap find it didn't work and work ya way up to good stuff? Oh n Bilstein n H&R are the best known set up in Germany which as we know is around the £700 mark!

This debut of the especially exclusive kind combines the typical H&R attributes of sporty handling, optimized active safety and highest quality with extravagant looks.

Thats the route I'm taking BT especially after a recent (Saturday!) experience..
Fitted a cheap set of springs to a project n the fronts are good but the rear seem to be high and 3 of the coils are touching even whilst not moving which I consider dangerous... SO if anyone wants a set of -60mm FRONT springs let me know! :D
