Being fed up with all the hassles I have recently had trying to get a decent WBX motor, and not being able to afford the £1000 + for a recon, I am considering fitting a 1.8 Golf / Passat / Scirocco engine.
Am I right in saying if you get the mounts etc from a 1.6 Diesel T3 they will allow the fitting of this type of motor ?
How does it mate up with the gearbox ?
(I can make up an exhaust system etc from bits)
I reckon my existing LPG can be made to fit...
1.8 Golf / Passat / Scirocco engine fitting to a T3 ?

Yes, just treat the conversion as if you were doing a diesel conversion.
You need, Diesel bell housing, sump, oil pump/pickup, mounts and diesel input shaft....(or shorten petrol shaft by 13mm)
Some 'petrol' heads on here will be able to advise you on the best GTI set up......some fit really well, other dont !!!
(pay attention to the injection type and inlet manifold........this can make or break the conversion!!!)
