Battery.... is it knckrd??

Post by wasserleaker »

Hi all.... tried charging my 3 yr old (just out of warranty!) battery after a non start due to the vehicle standing for a while, unusually, the ammeter on the charger was only reading about 1 amp, normally when charging a flattie, it's nearer 3 or 4, noticed as well with the caps off, that one cell isn't bubbling like the others, so im guessing it's had it.
dead cell do you reckon?
are the AGM batteries worth the extra money, or will a GSF Bosch one be ok? i thought they should last a good 5 yrs or so, the battery is a 'Fuller' brand type, any views gladly received.......cheers!
