Syncro wanted
Also in the wanted section, but ........
Syncro bus with either multivan or camper interior. Preferably already with Eberspacher Standheizung!
Preferably 2.1 DJ Engine, but open to all variants (incl 1.6 diesel)
Preferably with Westy type pop top.
As you can see, I am pretty flexible, but want something with a good solid body and all for less than £2.5K
Let me know what you've got!!!!!

As I said, the main thing is good body work... flexible on everything else.
I would consider having a longer think about that if i were you.
Body work can be fixed relatively easily compared with things like gearboxes.
If it were me, i would try and get the most mechanically sound one i could find, and then spend a little while pottering about making it look nice. It'll be on the road a lot more often that way.

I second that!
I bought a cheep one, and whilst its been alot of fun and I now know verious bits in too much detail, its not been without the pain of it not working for many months, though me leaving it parked up for 4 months didn't help this statistic. The specalist bits like the gearbox I couldn't fix myself eather so its cost a bit, though I have fixed many other bits that would cost for someone elses labour. Don't think it owes me much different to buy and do up now to what a buying a sorted van in the first place would have cost, so from that view it wasn't a more expensive route but a more effortful one. I've spent significantly more on the van than I bought it for, which some think is odd. Couple to that, I've had it about 15 months and the useable camperish intererior still hasn't apeared because I'm still doing mechanical things first.
Buy a syncro, then spend about £2k on it was common advice a year back, now I have the T shirt I agree. Only way to bypass this expense is to buy a tidy one off someone who's already spent the money and done it right, but they'll be an enthusiast, know what its worth and price to reflect it, doesn't mean its a bad buy though.
