springs?

Post by nipples »

hey people, i renound for my low bays or beetles, when i say low i mean low.....

im looking to slam my 25 but sadly havent got the money to buy a set of springs and shocks.

someone said about cutting a coil or 2 out of the original springs. im not to fussed about ride quality but wouldnt like to start causing damage!

i hear that some people fit bmw or renault springs? is this right?

can anyone advise me the safest and cheapest way to get it a*** down???

I know you want to save some money mate ... but who on here would advise you to cut springs down huh?

save up and buy some proper ones, plenty second hand ones about too.

dont chop your springs you will be a danger to yourself and other road users.

look here for springs

www.brickwerks.co.uk

be aware most tuv approved (ie proper) kits only drop 60mm.
80mm drops make you run out of castor and camber adjustment and make your van nasty to drive.

cut and cav !
was a term used a while ago , it involved cutting the front springs and fitting cavalier springs to the rear

you can also warm the springs using gas, this can be done on the van!

all not advised tho , and cut springs ARE an mot fail!

handling is terrible!
as said above save up ,do it right!
