Windscreen wiper problem

Post by bigbluebullybus »

Haven't been out in the bus for a week or so but took him out today and he seems to have developed a windscreen wiper problem - back doesn't work at all (but I'm not sure if it did anyway as I haven't had him long and have had no cause to use 'em on the few occasions I've taken him out). There seems to be no intermittent option either.

I did remove the stereo a few weeks ago as it was draining the battery. Could I have been a bit over zealous when it came to playing with all the pretty coloured wires? If that's the case what should I be looking for to try and re-connect. Vince is a 1982 Autosleeper (automatic) btw.

Cheers, Debby :)

unless its a top spec "bus" or "caravelle" based van, it wont have intermittent at that age, which is maybe why its not working.......

however, you mention rear wash wipe, which suggests its either a top spec or has been retro fitted, so check the relay is the correct one for intermittent operation

Aaah - that might explain that one then!

So how would I recognise what spec it is and where am I likely to find the relay? Sorry - you'll have to resort to girlspeak. I'm fine with welding, grinding etc but electrickery ain't generally my thing :(

ok,
how many positions does the wiper stalk have?

do you have a heated rear windscreen?

are the window rubbers flush with the metalwork on the rear side windows on the outside?

do you have opening quarterlights?

the relay lives in the fusebox..... what number is it?
