1 Y wiring

Post by peilneters »

Just looking into wiring up my 1Y, pump doesn't seem to have the black box talked about on this forum. I seem to just have a black wire coming off the back, that joins in to a round connector, along with a few wires coming from the water cicuit.

how do I wire this 1y into mt crewcab

Cheers

My original 1Y engine had the black box fitted, which I broke off to reveal a regular solinoid beneath. But that pump was knackered. I found another 1Y in a scrappy fitted in a golf with an identical pump fitted but no blackbox to remove. Does that help.

I was incredibly sceptical about the wiring of a 1Y as the IY pump has loads of wires and electrical bits and bobs. But its is only the one single solinoid you need to wire in.

Good Luck.

when i fitted my 1y into marladys 1.6d van....every wire connected up to every connector perfectly.....i didnt have the black box thingy.....and i used the 1.6 alternator to save messing with the wiring....probably not the best idea ive ever had but still works well....just have to adjust it every 5-6 months when it squeels a bit
