attaching awning to van

Post by rugchucker »

hi folks :pimp

Do you have a high to that the gutters wont let you clamp the awning to it?

Well here is a possible solution!!

I bought 2 glass carriers of the type that glaziers use off ebay for under a tenner.
Ebay item no: 140280290394

I used these last week at Ilfracombe and they stayed attached through all the wind and hail no probs and are a doddle to use. The pole for attaching the awning fits like a glove through the handles. Just attach to the van then slide the pole in

I have no doubt others have discovered this idea before me, but its loads cheaper than the JK ones and with a combined hold of 120kg you can swing off them. No damage to your roof and you can also carry glass if you want. I used them to carry a fridgefreezer without bending or swearing this morning.[/url]

I already had an awning rail , but for ease of attachment and detaching to leave the awning on site, this has been the best, also it wouldnt have helped with the fridge/freezer.

This requires no drilling into your roof.

Also they could be used vertically to hold tv aerial or flag pole maybe.

Not at the same time tho.
