engine number

Can anyone please help? I have a 1.6td westfalia 1989 I am filling out paperwork as it has been imported from germany. Where can i find the engine number.

on the engine block below number 2? second from front injector, if you don't have it it doesn't matter, german docs don't have it on, so now my V5 doesn't have it either : )

Thanks for your help. Do you mean on the plate with the injectors coming from it cos there seems to be about 5 sets of different numbers.
