Sticky Door

Post by owlets »

My sliding door has started sticking, I turn the handle but very little happens. I'm able to waggle it and it opens up slight at the back so I can gt my fingers into the gap and it then pops open. Any idea of how or what I need to adjust or grease?

have a look at the bottom runner, this gets full of gack, scrape it all out and apply clean grease, not too much, just getting rid of the old muck will help.
Then, have a look at the top runner, give that a grease.
Then remove that little extra panel that runs horizontally behind the sliding door, there is a track in there that can get full of muck, especially if it starts to rust.
That should help loads.
Dont adjust till you have done all thosew bits.

We were told by McGill not to grease it at all just clean out all the crap, it's the grease that makes the crap stay in there.

Just a thought.

I grease the wheel, lots, and then a little on its runway, you've just got to clean it out routinely.
