Where can I get an idle valve and an airflow meter for a 2.1 engine ?
Thanks.

Unless it is completely missing or suffered some clearly visible "incident" how do you know it is busted? Just interesed...wixer wrote:Where can I get an idle valve and an airflow meter for a 2.1 engine ?

Had it into a Bosch injection tuner yesterday, as it's becoming a bit of a pain to start in the mornings. He checked it out and reset the CO level but he suspects the valve as it's struggling to maintain a fast idle when it's cold. I've had Golfs in the past and these valves can become troublesome, when they get older. AFM could also be a suspect but when the engine is hot, there's no problem so I doubt it is the AFM.

Yes when i was trying to diagnose my "Stopping as if a heat related fault like a coil screnario" I focussed on the air valve for a while. It was making a buzzing feeling if touched and I determined that there must be some kind of mark space relationship in the controll current which gave it the proportional response you would envisage as being necessary for its operation. (Like it ain't just a two position valve is it ?) So if it buzzes and is free from oil and gunge it must be working OK - maybe.
Any views?
