Considering uprating the front brakes and calipers on the camper and was wondering if any of you out there had done anything similar or had some ideas on the matter?
I know braided hoses would give some benifits and I will be definately be doing this.
Its currently running on 15" Mercedes rims but would be willing to change these to be able to fit equipment that gives better stopping power!
Hi I upgraded the brakes on my T25 back in the spring for a set of the ultimate engineering front brakes. I have covered thousands of miles with them including the chance to drive flat out at the Hockenheim race track. I was very impressed with the performance of these brakes especially on the track, where I managed to out brake many of the vans there when coming into the corners.
I have seen their kit on ebay recently, although it is not yet on their website.
you live on Jersey , drive and syncro and want to uprate the brakes ?planning a decent of the cliffs ?
Surely well adjusted standard brakes as per vw intended is more than man enough for the job?!
Good service/adjustment with a set of braided hoses and complete replacement of brake fluid should see you right.
He fails to mention that a 3.3 litre 24v 230 bhp flat six motor is being bolted in the back. My one should be running this weekend, but I have the larger brakes on the 16 and he may need a parachute
Braided hoses arent that good. All they do is lessen the brake travel slightly by not expanding as much as standard ones.Personaly more hassle than they are worth. There are better ways to spend ure money.

Maybe as a replacement/upgrade they are not all that but worth it if you are going to be replacing duff 20+ yr old hoses they are worth it for a few extra £.
Llama did (havnt used em for a while) good deals on hoses.A BFC is worth it for a few quid. All the vehicles i have ever owned always looked like they were on oe stuff!!!!!

I went down the audi caliper route, as per the syncro.ca site. I have been running them for about 2 years now (with braided hoses)
One thing though, don't go down the washers-as-spacers route - get some spacers made. A local machine shop did mine for next to nothing. There are pics of mine on my site in the gallery.
