SDI engine from a Golf

Post by Tells1983 »

I was thinking of putting an SDI engine into the van. It's from a 2002 Golf.
Anyone got one in theirs? Supposed to be great on fuel economy!
I've been reading through the posts and can't find anything related to SDI's.

You will need to make a lot of bits! Standard t25 diesel parts wont fit! :(
More is less, stay pure, stay poor.

Thank you AndySyncronuts.
There's a 1.9d Vento in in at the moment.
The guy i was talking to and who was reccomended to me said he can use the same sump but will have to put in a new accelerator cable, exhaust, clutch and pressure plate!

What else would he have to do with it?

I'm just throwing this out there ok, but he reckons the cost will be around €1800 - 2000 which is roughly £1450 - 1600

any thoughts?

The SDI engine is totaly different the sump wont fit. You will have to install it upright not on its side.It dosent have a accelirator cable and the list goes on.
If this person you are talking to dosent know this ide stay well clear.
