Carburettor (2e3) problems

Hi, just replaced my 2e3 carb on my 1984 1900cc DG due to problem with the choke. Managed to get a complete secondhand clean carb, needed to mode the accelerator pump lever as it was slightly rubbing against the manifold,apart from that all seemed ok.
engine starts and then cuts out straight away, did manage to hold it on half revs once. but cuts out as soon as it starts now
Any advice much appretiated. Kev

Check your electrical connections to the carb... sounds like the idle cut off
