LOWERING (help req'd please)

Post by orangevanman »

hi folks i know this is a well talked about topic but i would just like to be clear before i spend lot of cash.
i am looking into fitting audi rs4 alloy wheels to my 82 devon.
now i know a little about this but not a great deal (ie do i need to bore out the centres etc)
anyways my local place (wheel world) says that they can do them for £575 inc 225/40/18 tyres and new bolts incuding boring out. is this a good price??

also im looking to goto huddersfield to mr baxters to have it lowered and balanced/geom etc then he to fit new wheels
but im looking at the 60mm kit including the shocks and springs

now all i need to know is is the price for the wheels about right?
not worried about simons price as i know that thats a fair price
the other thing i need to know is will it catch/ bottomout??

thanks folks in anticipation matt

Life is like a grinding wheel, it can polish you up or wear you down - it depends what you are made of !

hi mate i have the same wheels on mine and lowered 50mm just springs its fine doesnt rub the arches but would suggest you get at least 6mm spacers for the front as they rub on the wishbone
also my mate has same wheels his is lowered 60mm and its fine no rubbing have a look at my van its on general chat on topic " few of my df pics" near the bottom mine is white with blue flames up the side
as regards to price my wheels were £475 with tyres and my mate bored them out but to get it done by a pro for £100 to my calculations thats pretty good mate gtood luck get some pics up wen you done
There are 3 kinds of people in this world.......
