Eberspacher puffing......

Hiya,

My D2 eberspacher is "chuffing" when it cycles to the lower heat setting it puffs black smoke at the same time, sounds like a steam train.

Just replaced the glow plug (was intermittently showing F21 as a fault) The wire at the old glow plug was melted....

The chuffing was happening before the glow plug swap...

Could it be caused by the exhaust pipe being too long? (1.3m including silencer) The intake is about 20cm long

Any ideas?

Sounds like it is in need of a bloody good clean out to me,,,,,,get in touch with Mr onion who will explain how to carry out this operation.

The inlet and exhaust should (allegedly) be the same length .... somatt about having a 'balanced flue' sounds vaguely perverse to me

silencer blocked?
seem to remember someone else having this prob with the silencer, but cant remember who......

also check filter in pump, could be partially blocked.........
