Oil filter Thread size?
I thought I'd seen it somewhere but can't find it by searching...
Could anyone please confirm the thread spec of the standard spin-on oil filter, please? I think I remember it as 3/4 UNF but I'm not certain. Vagcat shows a few thread sizes but not that one as far as I can see.
I'm thinking of fitting a sandwich plate for a temp sender and possibly extra cooler and want to get the right one.
Tankslot

More data
Well I've just had a measure of the thread and it seems to be a taper type with diameter of 0.75 inch at the middle of the thread. I only have metric pitch gauges and it does not seem to be either 1.75 or 1.5
I found a listing for a K&N hi-spec filter that lists the thread as "Thread Number 16 UNF-2B" - but I'm not too sure what that means. Any ideas??
