I believe that the engine in my 1.6d isn't the original, so have located the engine code, which is indeed a CS. Does this mean that its donor from another T25, or could it have come from another type of VW, and if so, is there anyway I can find out what? (all my local VW garages seemed to have closed for the day).
Cheers!

the reason I'm trying to find out is that I'm having problems replacing my accelerator cable (as per me other thread), as the fixing point on the injector arm seems to be different to those in the manuals(as in books, not non-automatics!). But if the CS *only* went into the T25 then I guess its just the injector that's from a different vehicle, not the whole engine!

Yes, if it comes from a different vehcile, all sorts of odds and sods can be a blasted pain in the butt - so it can matter, if the conversion, carry-over wasn't done using T25 incidentals - i.e. Lotsa Gotchas...
