2ltr aircool carb probs
I have taken the bi-metalic choke apart (twin solex carbs) to get at 2 screws holing it on as it was loose. Now i cant get the coke valve set right again.......it has a coil spring in it......dose it has to be set to the valve??????? now runs like crap.......reving its balls off on tickover.......any ideas???? THANKS JON

Under normal cold conditions, they keep flap closed (or partially closed) for about 3 mins so check that they aren't being kept closed after engine is warm. Once round the block and chock should be off really. Just turn accordingly until you find they work satisfactorily.
On beetles I used to have a winter and summer setting of my own but with twins you really want to set up and forget.

and don't forget....they both turn in different directions...
left carb clockwise to turn off right one anti clockwise
If i remember correctly...of not it's the other way round .

SORTED
I worked out how it works........little heating element warms the bi-matalic spring that expands and moves the choke valve over...........wow.......I set it the same as the other carb.........seems to work ok now. Got a bit worried b4 as im off to bwets y coed camping 2moro....... Cheers lads
