That's a very nice job Andy, and very sharp piccies you take too, Wikid!

I took a different approach but it required copying the dogleg (banjo style) rubber compressor inlet manifold in steel, sized up a wee bit all round...

The Garrett T3 being about an inch longer, with a larger diameter inlet (63mm) ...

Hey andy nice pics, thanks. and yes the pump pic is of interest. Who built it up? How's the fuel milage with it ? I was gonna put in an AHU but i got a 1.9 adg industrial for so cheap, i couldn't resist. I made up a pump with a 10 mm head, and the power is okay, but i may have to send it out for the pump magician over in the next province to make me a super pump.

Use one of thomas's mountings from ha project,ive been down the route of making them up,it is easier to just buy one,they run much better with the AAz turbo,you need to modify the oil return from the turbo to the sump with a vertical drop,then block off the golf one to the block,pirtek do them for me,you will need to mod the downpipe,longlife do mine in stainless

What confuses me is the fact that the username is fully loaded cali, probably meaning its a california that your swapping the engine on, and it would have started off as a 1.6TD, so why mess about with all the AAZ stuff when you have the JX stuff that will just bolt up and work better with no messing?!

Yes have a JX, infact with a new Turbo. This is my first engine change, water cooled that is, done plenty with Aircooled.

Was a bit concerned before i started after hearing all the stories about what turbo to use / how to position the turbo, the engine running on it's own oil and self destructing.

After dropping the JX and comparing with the AAZ the conversion is so easy. As you say, just switch the JX items over and bolt up.

I found it more difficult putting up the Christmas lights on the house!!!

P.S this had better give me more power, I'm getting used to sounding like an ice cream van so need to compensate with more power
