Ta Louey, huge kiss. I was on a petrol station forecourt clambering under my van in a skirt trying unsucessfuly to find it.
The rear engine confused the assesor for starters!
My van was registered in 1985 and built in 1984, I can find the Vin plate but I need to locate the chassi number thats stamped on metal. If I can't find it I will be automatically turned away from the MOT station. The only hint I have is that its not in the engine bay (which was hot while I looked)
Pictures would be good pretty please as would a diagram.
Many Thanks
Lg

just behind the drivers door (the b pillar) is the jacking point LG.
underneath the van is a bit of thick metal that goes 90 degrees from the front to back of the van to the jacking point - this is the cross member
this image shows the chassis rail from front to back - the piece of metal that goes from the rail to the vw mud flap is a chassis outrigger(the one shown is the nearside)
