Hi folks,
I had my 1990 Caravelle painted a few months back, inclusive of the seams being filled over, and to be honest, the people who did the work would be better suited working on a Ranch hearding cattle on horse back.
I know its not the best choice having a vehicle de-seamed, especially if there are rust problems etc, but my van was in pretty good shape before any work was carried out.
As the seems are showing through, and there are cracks appearing in the paint where some of the seems are, my guess is, the job hasn't been done properly.
Is there anybody on here who can tell me the correct way of prepping a vehicle for de-seaming?

My van has just been back into the paint shop after it was painted earlier this year.
My seams started to crack and rust was appearing.
They went down the seams with a grinder too clean them back to bare metal and then filled (but not de seamed) the grooves with PU sealant.
This is flexible and wont crack as the body twists.
The only way to de seam is to weld the joints.
So get the seams reinstated.
