pre heater hose

Post by raider »

Hi, Newbie here,

Saw that one of the pre heater hoses was buggered so went to replace it, finally got the old one off and the new one on, to a degree. Can't get the jubilee clip tightened at the top in that tricky cavity. Someone mentioned there's a tool that can get in there, where do I get one of them?

Secondly, I attached the new hose to the heat exchanger ducts, apparently, I managed to identify it off another post. This is in complete S*%t state but on the posts I've read they say remove it, waste of time. Can someone give me some clarification on this. Why bother with the hoses at all then? Is that what you all do, bin them?

Any advice gratefully received
