Tailgate removal, and painting..

Post by fairwynds »

Hi all
quick question:
I am giving the old girl a coat of paint (yes, rollering etc!)
I want to remove the tailgate to make life easier. Do I remove the four hex socket bolts which hold the hinges to the bodywork (or leave hinges in place?) - If I do, will tailgate go exactly back in place it came from or will I have to adjust etc.....?
Thanks everso....

Oh, will post pics of repainting - boss has lent me a whole aircraft hangar to do it in, result!

How's the door attached to the hinges? I've never done it but I think I'd be tempted to leave the hinges on the body if the door is just screwed onto the hinges...........

Yes I did that but it still needed adjustment aferwards. But it was no trouble.
