Juddering Gearbox

Post by shane r »

My G Box has always had a bit of a judder since I got the van. Recently, it's begun to judder quite violently in 3rd (I have to stick the clutch in and run the revs up to stop it).

Now, I'm guessing there must be some problem with the mounting. Can anyone offer some advice?

Thanks
Shane

most probably the gearbox front end mount or even loose engine mounts, they can part company where the rubber bonds to the metal, with age, get underneath and look what happens while a helper rock/waggles the engine about, also check no bolts have sheared or come loose. the front gearbox mount is quite pricey if its knackd, so maybe a good S/H one will be best, (if it is that)
