gear change

Post by Jon Bisson GSY »

Hi,
I am having to push down as if I am going into reverse when I am selecting 1st and 2nd. I assume this must be something out of whack on the pivot underneath.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jon

Theres an adjuster half way along the gear linkage rod between the gear lever and engine. Basicly, if you undo it, move the gear lever a little towards the right of the van and do it back up again, you should be ok.
Sounds like it may have slipped or been fiddled with at some time.
Haynes have a 'put-it-right' section in the manual that describes how to do it and for a change something they have printed actually works!

Thought I should be a little more specific with the location of adjuster!
Its just behind the fuel tank, luckily not above it!
