Clutch slave and brake slave cylinders T25 1.9DG camper

Post by sezicoolcat »

Hi Folks,

Are these the same part?

Just got the slave cylinder delivered to me from GSF. Despatch note says its a clutch slave cylinder.
Box says its a brake slave cylinder.
Part number on both the despatch note and the box are the same number (251-721-263)...

Nope, very different! Cant quite figure out what they've done there!
Does it have a bleed screw at one end, a flexible gaiter at the other and a round metal bit in between with a fitting for the pipe to screw into?
If so, thats a clutch slave cylinder.
Have a looksie, see if it seems to be the same as the cylinder on your van.
Mark.

Thanks Mark.
I didn't want to open the box...
I will do though.
Looks like I may have a trip to Canterbury GSF tomorrow then, rather than straight to the clutch centre

Right.
Might be ok - has a bleed screw at one end. Working back along unit, bleed screw/nipple facing you; next comes a hole in the top; next is a diamond shaped protusion; then a rubber gaiter and lastly a metal cylinder shaped thing on the end of the gaiter.
Does this sound about right?
(Crikey, it don't harf pong! The part...)

Oh, and just noticed the picture on the box is nothing like the actual part itself, so I think I'm fine after all that!

You'd better be! He! He!
Sorry I couldn't be more help but I've had work all week and been a bit tied up.
Good to hear you're going to be up and running again soon anyway!
Mark.
