fitting galaxy alloys

ok, please reply with great caution, as idiot here. read the info and more confused
I have alloys to fit to van, size 205/55R 16
now I know original is 185 R 14C.

Rght, I have knocket out the inner ring from alloys,to allow straight fitting,

I am thinking, as the hub is 10mm thicker than original steel rims, and tyres are 20mm wider than original, I will need 10mm spacers for front and back wheels and studs and bolts 20mm longer ( 10mm for hub, 10mm for spacer ) to keep centers of wheels correct ???????????????????????

you need the ET
and PCD
and the J type (5,6. 7. or 7.5)
of the galaxy rims before we start.

size 205/55R 16

is too small, you need 205/60X16

I have put 1 wheel on front, just to see.(replaced with original )
the pcd is exactly the same and used the original bolts to try.
As your diagrams show, it looks like that without spacing, the rim tops will just interfere with arm.

Original threads are only 1 to 2 turns in, so maybe 3-4mm.

I am thinking that if i space the new wheels out 10mm and get studs 25mm longer, then the centre of the tyre will be same as original, and studs will be through wheel with aprox 17-19mm.

no guesswork mate ... find out the ET then you can fit the correct correction

I read your info,( links ) understand exactly now, Have ET35 on wheels , so will try upto 5mm spacer to stay close as possible to 30-39mm rating.

will also put same on back to keep sweet.

6 mm is Ok

but your tyres will throw your speedo out by 4%
you may want to check the load rating on those tyres too, personally I wouldn't fit anything less than 97

brickwerks sell the spacers, studs and nice chrome nuts.
