Chest type fridge vent question

Post by Walrus »

I've been looking at chest type 3 way fridges and wondered have a question regarding the gas exhaust vent. the big square vents I see on a lot of campers are for ventilation for the heating elements, right? The actual exhaust is usually a smaller vent?

Could a have a semi-permanant exhaust vent I can connect/disconnect safely inside the van instead of mounting the fridge inside a cabinet space so I can keep its portability?

Have you considered a compressor fridge? No vents needed, just 12v.

If you have a portable three way, then use it on gas in the awning, very economical, use it on leccy in the dub.

What if I'm somewhere that hasn't got mains hookups and I don't want to leave it outside (where it would probably walk)? e.g wild camping

Not just the exhaust vent.

Im no expert but the idea of fitting a fridge with a semi-permanant gas fitting inside the van is worth checking with someone who is.

I would defo invest in a gas/carbon monoxide detector.

when the exterior flues are fitted to the van they are permanent.
when the fridge is fitted its flue slots in the exterior flue.

get that connection wrong ...once ... and your all dead.

flexible hoses = bends = no

directly to the outside = yes
